Blogging Hiatus and Computer Stupidness~

I have not been able to blog in quite some time, due to technical issues on our end. SO I apologize for that! So much has happened since I last had a chance to post! I will update and tomorrow, will add the birthday blog for Ryker's 1st!!

Jacob started school and is really enjoying it. I get to see his work come home each week and see how he is doing. I am still wondering about the "Gifted Program" for excelled thinkers, such as J. I really think it is important to keep them intrigued and challenged while in school, so that they stay in the game and want to give it there all. He is so intelligent and I want him to use that now, not later when it might be too late. The crush he has had for so long, is in his class. But, I know that he is being very mature about it and not letting it affect school. She lives right down the street, so he can play and crush on her outside of school.

Hannah is doing well in pre-school. I am amazed at what she is learning, as well as her sparky intelligence. She is very witty and free spirit, which has me on my toes most times. I wish her dad would just move here and find a job and house, so that the time apart would change. More on that later. She is doing well and growing more every day. She loves her cuddle time and nap time with mommy. What? I shouldn't be taking naps? But, yes, I am. That is our "thing" is nap time, oh yes it is. And as long as she is game, I am game. Even if she is seven, heheh.

Ryker had tubes put in his ears the Monday after his birthday, so August 25th. The surgery went well, he had a double infection of both ears when he went in for surgery. So they were thankful to get this done for him. He is not one that wakes out of anesthesia happy, like my mother. He was very upset and would not take his bottle. He finally did take a couple Cheerios from Matt as well as one bite of Applesauce.
Matt stayed home with him that day, while he slept a bunch and recouped from the surgery. However, the next afternoon, I had the delight of being with him all afternoon after daycare called with a double pink eye infection in him. The 2nd day after surgery, not a piece of cake. He needed a darn nap so bad, but was fighting it off as if it were WWIII. Long afternoon, if you ask me.
Now, much happier child, who wants to now be so independent. He has been talking (i.e. babbling) much more. He is also standing on his own for long periods of time. The other night was amazing to watch him do this. I love seeing such a young guy of that age standing there like he is huge. He was soooo proud, as were we! I think now that the tubes are in, he will be walking in no time.

I took Ryker to his one year check up on the 27th. Oye, did he get a load of shots done that night. Five total. The norm of MMR, Prevnar, etc. But, to top it off, the flu shot nice and early to hope and pray he doesn't get the worst of it this year. I felt so bad for the little guy as if he hadn't been through enough. But, once again, we got through it as a champ!!
He was very cuddly after and has been at times lately, which I cherish!

Birthday pic's to come, as well as an update on my health/brain problems.

Night,

School Starts....tomorrow!

Another crazy busy weekend. Although I fell as if I got nothing done! Jacob had two friends over on Friday night, than we went to the Air Show yesterday (Saturday) and we were pooped after that. It was nice and hot out, and for a free air show, we still left spending about $45! WTF? We don't' have that type of money to throw around, jeesh!
Today, we did stuff outside and then I was off and running to a few stores. First Target to get Jacob a new outfit for the first day, including shoes. Than I was wanting to purchase a car seat there, but no luck. The ones that were nice and clearenced out last week, are not so much this week. Bye $50 steal. So I caved in to some cute little jammies for Ryker instead. Oh and a birthday boy outfit, cause he needed one, for sure. Then off we went to Hobby Lobby, which I can now add, was frickin' closed. WTF again? I need HL, I need it to BE OPEN. No such luck. SO we went to the grocery store to get a few things, including milk, yes milk. Since Ryker is now drinking that as well. !!! We switched him over yesterday, because the formula was gone and he will be a year in less than a week anyway, no biggie. Oh and he loves it, except I think it is a bit colder than what he was used to with Formula.
Anyhoo, then we went to stupid Card Party Outlet, which had a pathetic excuse for inventory. I was all excited and only walked out with a f'ing bag of balloons. What a joke. That frustrated me a lot. So now that the Big O-N-E is only, oh less than a week away, I am on the line to get it ready to roll. Not to mention we are having an after party, "First Annual Summer Blowout Party" with grillin' etc. I have a lot to do and was too lazy this weekend as far as cleaning the house.
Oye, gotta get ready for the first day of school. Jacob is so excited, he probably won't sleep worth a bit. At least he excited...

Crazy Days

This weekend has been about running from one place to the next. No time to stop and smell the roses. Friday after work, we had to travel two hours for my part time job to meet with my boss and tour the headquarters for the company. Of course it sucked, because Matt couldn't be with me the entire time because of "sensitive company information." Whatever. He isn't going to run and tell people anything, and besides, he does live with me, so yeah, he might know a little about what I do part time. It isn't all undercover, I am the Executive Assistant to a CEO of a new company. Shhh, I can't say any more. :)
Anyway, we checked into the hotel and proceeded to go to dinner and out on the town after. When we got back our card wouldn't work in our door. So we went to the front desk and they re-activated them but decided to call "our" room to see if anybody answered. Ha, a guy answered! They double booked our room and gave it to someone when we were out. Can you believe that? So they gave us a different room and we were thankful that we hadn't left our stuff in there before we went out. What a joke.

When we got back yesterday, we had a house warming party to go to as well. So we headed over there around six and stayed till ten. It was a ton of fun and we met new people. But, it makes me ponder a lot.

Why can't we just meet another couple with child or children and hang out. It seems like nobody has time anymore to have friends. Everyone is so busy. Or just plain weird and you don't want to be around them. I just want friends. Is that so hard to find? I am not saying I don't have any, but there are people that I really get a long with at work, but never hang out with otherwise. Then there are friends in the neighborhood, that come to find out, think they are too good for us and don't want to hang out anymore. I guess I just don't get it. You can really feel lonely even if you have people. Even if you have a great family, with awesome kids and the most amazing husband. You still feel it. Even a girl friend that would want to go out sometimes, that would be nice.

This afternoon Matt has his end of summer work party thing. It is at the small adventure park here in town and they have mini golf and rides galore. Jacob's dad agreed to let us have him for the afternoon so that he can go. I wish that his dad would just go away and I wouldn't have to share time. Jacob is everything, he has been through everything with me for eight years. The biggest changes in my life have happened in those eight years. And the more time he spends with his dad, the more I feel that our bond is slowly diminishing. It sucks. But, I know how important it is that he has his dad in his life. It is important to Jacob and I have to respect that. It is just hard.

That is it for my soap box. I didn't realize this post would turn into a vent of feelings. But, I guess that is what this blog is for. Me to write out my life, the ups and downs. It helps to see what I am really thinking, once it is down on "paper" I suppose.

August already!

I can't believe the summer is almost over, it has flown by. August is a busy month. Jacob starts school on the 18th and I still don't know who is teacher is. Ryker's birthday is the 23rd and I have planned it all in my head, but done nothing to get it going. Shit. I also have Dr. appts.

Ryker's party will be Construction themed, with hard hats and orange cones. I need to get all of that of course and invitations. Oh and it might be good to get one year pictures taken. He is so close to walking, he is at the cruising stage. Going from the couch to the coffee table and back. Of course that is like one step for him, but still. He will be walking soon. Maybe he will say more than ba-ba too. Ha.

Jacob had a sleepover last night, he was so excited to go over there and spend the night. It isn't his first sleepover either. But, at 1:30 in the morning, I got a phone call that he wanted to come home and that he couldn't sleep. The other mother said that he was sleeping, but woke up and got scared.

He has had a problem falling asleep, I don't know what is causing this. But, he asked if I would take him to the doctor and get sleeping stuff for him. I seriously don't know why an 8 year old, who plays all day, wouldn't be able to sleep. We will see what comes of it.

I have to go to Iowa again this morning to work my part time job. I was hoping to stay home today, but we need the money. So that is fine. It is only a hour and a half drive each way.

We have a heat advisory for the weekend. Yeah. I am ready for fall because it is cool in the mornings and you can wear sweatshirts. Love it.

Well, gotta jet. Have a fabulous weekend.
